New students can begin using Office 365 Education two weeks before their first class begins.
Where can I get help installing Office 365 Education?

Can I use the software offline?
Yes. However, you must connect the device to the Internet at least once every 30 days to verify the license.
Do I have to upgrade to Office ProPlus?
As OIT continues the campus-wide migration of faculty and staff mailboxes to the O365 environment, campus users will find the most seamless migration experience occurs when desktop software has been upgraded to Microsoft Office ProPlus.
I already have an Office 365 subscription, can I be reimbursed?
No. Microsoft does not have a process by which to convert, reimburse, or migrate licensing. Office 365 Education, including Office 365 ProPlus software, is only available through the University’s existing agreement with Microsoft.
What happens when I graduate or leave UA?
Once you are no longer enrolled in classes or terminate employment at UA, your subscription to Office 365 Education will end and your account will be deactivated. You should locally save your content stored on OneDrive before you leave the University as you will lose access to the data once the subscription is terminated. You may enroll into other consumer or commercial offers available, but there is not currently a mechanism in place to transfer your data from an Office 365 Education OneDrive account to a consumer Office 365 OneDrive account.
How do I reset my password for Office 365 Education?
Your Office 365 Education and myBama accounts are linked. To reset your Office 365 Education password, you must reset your myBama password.
Can I install and use Office 365 Education applications and services on my University-owned machines?
Yes. University-owned machines are also covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement.

Access to Office 365 is not automatic - you must request it to receive it! If you're a Student, please follow the steps below to request access to Office 365:
- Request access by completing the automated Office 365 for Students Request Form on ServiceNow (MySWC Login Required)
- Within 24 hours, Microsoft will process your request and provide you with access to Office 365

Accessing Office 365
After 'Requesting Office 365 Access' (see above) and waiting 24-48 hours, you will be able to sign-in to the online and downloadable versions of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and more!
To sign-in to the online version, select the 'Office 365' button in the Campus Apps section of the MySWC Portal and then:
- Enter your @swccd.edu email address when asked to sign in
- Select 'work or school account' if you are asked
- Enter your MySWC password
To sign-in to an Office 365 app that you've downloaded to your device, follow the same three steps above. Please note, it will also take 24-48 hours after 'Requesting Office 365 Access' (see above) before you are able to sign-in to the downloadable apps.
Downloading Office 365 Apps
If the cloud version of Office 365 isn't working out for you and you'd like to download and install apps like Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint on your personal computers/devices, follow the instructions below:
- After requesting and receiving Office 365 access (see 'Requesting Office 365 Access' above), launch the 'Office 365' app (see 'Accessing Office 365' above) and select the 'Install Office' drop-down menu from your Office 365 landing page
- Select the 'Office 365 apps' option to begin the installer download
- Once downloaded, launch the installer app and select the apps and options you want
- Once you select the apps and options you want, you'll be able to use the apps on up to 5 personal computers/devices (mobile apps are available for iOS and Android)
- When you're asked for your username and password, be sure to login with your MySWC Account (you'll have access as long as you're currently registered for classes)
